Wassailing in Horton

Horton CE VA Primary School

The plan is to gather at The Bannisters residence at 6:30pm for mulled cider and “lambswool”. At 7pm, the procession starts at Horton School and works its way down Horton Hill, passing the village hall around 7:15pm, picking up Wassailers along the way.

Please note that the procession is likely to be noisy, as the Wassailers are encouraged to scare away the evil spirits by singing and whistling and banging saucepans.

The procession ends up around 7:30pm at The Elms for apple related refreshments and merriment.

It is strongly suggested that Wassailers bring their own Wassailing Cup (as drinking vessels will be at a premium), and to wrap up warm !!

This is not a ticket event and there will be no charge but there will be a donation bucket, with all proceeds going to Winston’s Wish.
