Sodbury Fest 2022

‘Sodbury Fest’ – the new South Cotswold Beer Festival in Chipping Sodbury
Having run the South Cotswold Beer Festival very successfully for many years, the Rotary Club of Yate have handed over the reins to Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club (CSRFC), who will continue to run this popular event on their grounds at The Ridings off the Wickwar Road.
This year's rebranded festival will be a one-day event, held on Saturday 2nd July from 11-11pm, which aims to draw large crowds to enjoy local beers and ciders whilst listening to live music and bands.
Emphasis has been added to the variety of music and musicians to provide added appeal to a wider audience, and a greater choice of food and drink on offer, encouraging family gatherings as well as the traditional beer and cider connoisseurs.
The range of music will offer something for everyone, mostly local bands and groups including a budding local youth alternative rock band ‘Decanter’.
Other local bands include the popular modern pop band ‘Room 6’ featuring one of the CSRFC Ladies players, acoustic folk rock band ‘Peppercorns’, ‘Bristol Pan Sonic’ steel band and early 80’s jazz funk band ‘Freeze’.
Appearances from ‘Street Cred’ the superb street dancers, ‘FooPhonics’ and ‘For the Record’ who cover 70’s/80’s music will also play. The evening will finish with a flourish of rock from ‘Liquor & Poker’.
Like the musicians, the food and drink businesses serving at this year's event are typical of those who have suffered more than most during the depths of the pandemic. The variety of food will supplement the excellent regular local Scouts ‘Festival Burgers’ and food stall, to include Sodbury Lamb, and the range of drinks is being extended to include a Gin Stall to be set up and run by the Horseshoe pub.
Sodbury Fest tickets will be available shortly so book early to beat the rush. Watch this space!
