Project details below:
Knitting or crochet baby jumpers or cardigans. These will be donated to the Bristol Weston Hospital Charity shop in the BRI so they can sell them to raise money. Items can be any size, or style. Please label with finished garment size.
Quilts - these are for Project Linus who donate them to children wards in nearby hospitals. These can be baby, toddler, child or teenager size. No bigger than 1m X 1m.
Use pre washed cotton fabric.
Keep the quilt simple, no pockets or embellishments
For layers the there are 2 ways you can make the quilt either
Cotton patchwork top, with just a thin fleece anti pill backing, no bias needed with this method
or
Cotton patchwork top, thin wadding, cotton back, cotton bias binding (not commercial bias as it's too rough)
Blankets need to be lightweight so it's comfortable on top of the hospital blankets. Soft as anything rough can irritate skin. The quilts brings comfort to children during a difficult time. The children keep the quilts and some even bring them to follow up hospital visits.
Sizes - these are just a guide and don't have to be specific

Children’s Quilts: approx 36” – 42” square or 36” x 42”
