Hawkesbury Upton Literature Festival - A Sense of Place
St Mary's Church, Hawkesbury Upton
Our Spring Festival will take place on Saturday 27th April from 10.30am until 4pm and we'd love to see you there! The venue will be the beautiful ancient parish church of St Mary's, Hawkesbury, just down the hill from Hawkesbury Upton. This event will be a joint venture with the Friends of St Mary's, which raises funds to preserve this historic site for future generations to enjoy.
The Festival's theme is "A Sense of Place", and our guest authors, many of them local, will share how they convey a sense of very different places in their books.
The talks will be interspersed with entertaining readings by popular performers from previous Festivals.
As usual, tea, coffee and cake, included in the £10 ticket price, will be available throughout the event. You'll also receive a £2 book voucher, valid at the event.
There's an optional paid lunch of quiche, fruit and salad for £12.50 in the ancient Malt House opposite the church. Only 30 lunch tickets are available due to limited space, so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. The church is accessible to all, but the ancient Malt House lunch can only be reached by stairs.
You're welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the church or the churchyard during the lunch break.
