Since reopening after lockdown, Razzamataz Theatre School has witnessed firsthand how taking part in performing arts classes has boosted children’s confidence and self-esteem. Principal Michaela and her team have seen how they are bouncing back week after week, which has been further supported by numerous testimonials from grateful families.
Razzamataz has a strong ethos of inclusion and welcomes children regardless of ability or any mental or physical illnesses. While some will go on to become professional performers, others gain life skills to pursue their own dreams and aspirations.

The 1st Chipping Sodbury Scout Group was formed in 1914 and has developed to become one of the largest and most successful in the district. With the assistance of parents and helpers we aim to provide Scouting for two Beaver colonies, two Cub packs, two Scout troops and an Explorer Scout Unit.
All sections are run by adult warranted leaders who voluntarily give up a great deal of their spare time and often their own finances. No leader or helper ever receives any form of payment other than the satisfaction of seeing the results of their endeavours.

Thanks to our volunteers, Chipping Sodbury and Yate St John Ambulance division has been supplying First Aid to local events for several years, from a variety of Athletics at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex to Horton fell runs, Gymkhanas, carnivals and Heritage events.
Providing this vital First Aid is a rewarding and often challenging experience. St John Ambulance as an organisation has helped Badgers, Cadets and Adults to achieve many social and fundamental life skills. Its members are vital to the organisation and in return; members achieve qualifications and confidence and a whole new network of friends.
The youth centre offers young people aged 11-19 a safe space to meet their friends, a variety of activities, including a dedicated music session, information and support, opportunities to volunteer and accreditation.

In the Yate area there are 4 Guide units (for girls age 10 to 14 years), 6 Brownie units (for girls age 7 to 10 years) and 5 Rainbow units (for girls age 5 to 7 years). If anyone would like to enquire about joining one of these groups, please click below to register through the Girlguiding UK national website.
Come along and join us at Rainbows, a group for girls aged 5 - 7 years, who meet every Tuesday at St Mary’s Youth Centre. Make new friends, play games, make crafts, gain badges and much more in this small, friendly group. For more information contact Emma by email below.

The board consists of young people coming together to explore issues such as internet safety, missing children, and the way services work with young people. Members can achieve a volunteering award, which can be used as part of DofE.
It allows young people to voice their opinion and make changes to things that affect the communities we live in.
We meet regularly with senior management and councillors to share our opinions and views and have a say in the development of the service. We also keep them up to date with young people’s issues.
We have young people representing each area of South Gloucestershire, aged between 13 – 19 (25 for young people with learning difficulties and/ or disabilities).
